Trump’s first month

The U.S. president is getting some pushback from his own party. Republican Senator John McCain said Donald Trump’s administration is in disarray. And his job approval rating is the lowest in history at the one-month mark. But Trump is stressing that after a month in office, he is having a positive impact on the economy.

-We have taken major steps during the first few weeks of my administration to remove wasteful regulations and get our people back to work.

Trump hammered out protectionist economic policies after his inauguration. He also announced a withdrawal from the Trans-Pacific Partnership free trade agreement. Some of his actions have caused mass protests, namely his ban on immigration from seven Muslim majority countries. Protesters say the measure constitutes racial discrimination, and a court decision had the ban suspended.

The U.S. president has indicated his administration is not necessarily committed to a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. It is widely seen as backing away from Washington’s standing policy on the Middle East peace process.

-I’m looking at two-state and one-state and I like the one that both parties like. I’m very happy with the one that both parties like. I can live with either one.

Donald Trump made the statement after talks in Washington with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Past U.S. administrations have upheld the two-state solution as a cornerstone of Middle East peace policies. It calls for Israel and a Palestinian state to coexist.

“You ain’t no Muslim, bruv” become slogan of post-attack London

The phrase “You ain’t no Muslim, bruv.” has been trending in England as a way for people to separate violent attacks, such as the recent Underground stabbing, from the Muslim faith as a whole. In a video shot by a bystander during the knife attack, the assailant could be heard shouting “This is for Syria!” After police managed to subdue the man, an unknown voice could be heard shouting the now famous line. Over social media the phrase has helped to encapsulate the feelings of the Muslim community in the UK. British PM David Cameron has also come out in support of it.
